The next day we headed out for another cruise of the sound and a short circle in the Tasman Sea.  Once out to sea, we could understand why Captain Cook sailed right past Milford Sound while on his first two voyages of exploration of New Zealand!  The entrance is completely obscured until you are half way into the fiord.

It seems all the walls of the fiord are lined with one waterfall after another, large and small, as a continuous show of water falling from the clouds to the ocean!
